Captain Frankie uses his knowledge of Tampa Bay’s tides, seasonal fish patterns, and local fishing grounds to plan each trip. The additional time allows for more flexibility to change locations and follow the bite.

Explore More of Tampa Bay’s Inshore Fishing Grounds
With six hours to work with, you’ll have more opportunities to experience the variety of fishing Tampa Bay is known for. Depending on the season and water conditions, Captain Frankie may take you along mangrove shorelines, around grass flats, or near structures where fish gather to feed. Every trip is a little different, which is part of what makes fishing these waters so much fun!
Snook and redfish are popular targets for our inshore fishing charters, offering exciting fights and plenty of memorable moments. Spotted seatrout are another local favorite, especially when conditions are right. You may also encounter sheepshead and other species that call Tampa Bay home throughout the year.
The extra time gives Captain Frankie more flexibility to follow the bite and switch things up when needed. You might spend part of your morning targeting redfish before moving to another area in search of snook or trout. We can’t promise what will be biting, but we’ll give you a great opportunity to experience the local fishery and enjoy a full six hours on the water.

FAQs
For anglers who want more time on the water without committing to a full-day trip, a 6-hour fishing charter is an excellent choice. Those extra two hours give Captain Frankie more flexibility to explore different fishing spots, adjust to changing tides, and spend additional time targeting active fish. A 6-hour charter is especially appealing if you’ve been fishing before and want a more involved experience. At Barefoot Fishing Charters, our 6-hour inshore fishing trip costs $695, making it a great option for guests who want additional fishing time for a relatively small increase over our half-day charters.
Our 6-hour inshore fishing charters focus on the productive coastal waters of Tampa Bay, where Captain Frankie may fish grass flats, mangrove shorelines, channels, and structures depending on the season and conditions. Your trip may involve different techniques and fishing locations as Captain Frankie follows the day’s opportunities. Popular target species include snook, redfish, spotted seatrout, and seasonal sheepshead. The longer trip provides additional flexibility to change locations or fishing approaches when conditions call for it, giving anglers a more varied experience on Tampa Bay.
Tampa Bay offers inshore fishing opportunities throughout the year, but the species and fishing patterns change with the seasons. Spring and fall often provide exciting opportunities for snook, redfish, and spotted seatrout as water temperatures shift. Summer fishing can be productive when trips are planned around the heat, tides, and feeding activity. During cooler months, sheepshead become a popular target around docks, pilings, and other structures. Captain Frankie plans each 6-hour charter around current conditions, helping guests make the most of their time on the water regardless of the season.
Yes! One of the biggest advantages of booking a 6-hour fishing charter is having more time to explore different areas of Tampa Bay. Depending on the weather, tides, and fish activity, Captain Frankie may move between grass flats, mangrove edges, and other productive inshore fishing spots. This flexibility can be especially helpful when the fish aren’t cooperating in one location. While the exact number of stops depends on the day’s conditions, six hours allows more room to adjust the fishing plan and spend time where the action looks promising.
Florida weather can change quickly, especially during the warmer months when afternoon thunderstorms are common. Captain Frankie monitors the forecast and local conditions to help determine whether it’s safe to head out. Light rain doesn’t necessarily mean your fishing trip will be canceled, but lightning, strong winds, and unsafe water conditions may require a change of plans. If you’re concerned about the forecast before your scheduled charter, contact Captain Frankie at (813) 751-7895 to discuss the conditions and available options. Your safety always comes first.
